2 COURSE £10 SPRING LUNCH MENU

After quite frankly a wet and long winter we're proud to offer a special lunch menu in conjunction with the current Ala Carte lunch menu, to welcome and embrace a fresh light spring season.

We appreciate that lunch hours are getting shorter and shorter these days and the days of the 4 hour liquid lunch are almost extinct (although not quite) and also that great food in a great setting at a great price is almost just as rare.

Thus we introduce the new set menu at lunch, £10 for 2 courses simple:

A choice of 5 starters from the Ala carte,
Chef's set main course (always 2 choices inc a vegetarian option)
A choice of 5 desserts also from the Ala carte

If its exciting food that your after, some thing that little bit special, or just the good old traditional classics then the Sunday lunch menu accomodates, always boasting 3 choices of meat roasts along with other seasonal Glass Boat fare. The fore rib of Hereford beef is still the number one seller and the Yorkie pudds still loved by one and all, rightly so. Not to mention the wine list which has some big reds on that we're simply made for the mighty British roast.

FREE WINE...

It was a great pleasure to welcome on board some special guests that had travelled from the south of France to introduce to us at the Glass Boat their wines that they produce. Jan and Caryl panman of Chateau Rives-Blanques in the Languedoc region, south west in the foot hills of the Pyrenees, had a great range of whites that they have won a hideous amount of recognised awards for, and after a joyful afternoon drinking..er.. sampling these wines, it was easy to see why they are such winners. We tried their sparkling "Blanquette de Limoux", which is on our wine list, that was superbly quaffable with lovely flavours and a great price too.. ideal for wedding receptions. The "flagship of their fleet" is the "Cuvee de l'Odysee" chardonnay, that we also stock, was rich, complex and just fantastic. But the star of the show in our eyes (and palates) was the "Dedicace" chenin blanc which was top class. This wasn't on our wine list but is now! It really is a "dessert island" wine. Because we all thought the Chenin was so great we want you to try it as well, so what we will do is give it away with meals. lets see how it goes and what you think. Simply print this voucher and hand it in when you come to dine, easy. Now then, just one glass per person and for tables of 6 or less, but not on Fri or Sat evening, it is just a taster, but what a taster!
